Erica Griffin is a Senior Policy Analyst with Altarum Institute and works in the Altarum’s Atlanta, Ga. office. In this role, she supports the Office of Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Services (OSELS) within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to evaluate the efficacy of existing CDC surveillance systems is measuring the impact of health reform preventive indicators.  Ms. Griffin's project work includes determination of how existing health care-associated data sources and data sets can be used to improve and enhance public health surveillance efforts for CDC programs. Ms. Griffin manages the data acquisition process for CMS Medicare and Medicaid, Thompson Reuters Marketscan and New Hampshire and Maine All Payers Claims Database. In addition, she serves as the project manager for a the terrorism preparedness project through the Division of Injury Response, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at CDC. Previously, she worked as a wellness consultant with UnitedHealthcare, focused on improving the health and wellness for the State of Georgia account. Prior to this, she worked at the CDC in the Public Health Prevention Fellowship. Ms. Griffin holds a master in public health in health administration and policy from Morehouse School of Medicine and a bachelor of science in biology from Spelman College. Ms. Griffin is currently pursuing her Six Sigma Black Belt.
