Dr. Amy Sheon possesses more than twenty-five years of experience working in cutting edge and emerging public health issues including family planning, HIV research, ethical issues in genetics, and childhood obesity. She earned her bachelor’s in sociology from Cornell University, her M.P.H. from the University of Michigan, and her Ph.D. in public health policy from Johns Hopkins University. Results of her work have been published in leading biomedical and public health journals.

Sheon has worked in government, academic, private and nonprofit sectors including the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Institutes of Health, Westat, Macro, Inc., and the University of Michigan.

Sheon served as a senior policy analyst at Altarum where she provided policy and analytic support to a variety of health-related projects. In addition to previously serving as co-project director for the Childhood Obesity Prevention Mission Project for Altarum, she serves as a lead analyst for Health Care Lorain County in Ohio, a project to improve the system of care for uninsured residents.
