As a health policy associate, Amarie Campbell provides program support and technical assistance to grantees through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment’s Access to Recovery program. She has supported a team of project officers and the branch chief to manage a portfolio of 24 grantees by researching, synthesizing and reporting on program updates and grantee progress to the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Prior to this work, Campbell managed the clinical appeal process for more than 40 managed behavioral health organization clients, ranging from less than 1,000 to more than 400,000 lives, and prepared clinical appeal regulatory cases for Maryland Insurance Administration review. Additionally, she served as patient advocate, assisting patients in benefit coordination, and as a legal advocate with the Domestic Violence Center of Howard County by assisting clients in petitioning the courts for protective orders and arranging mediation.

Campbell designed and earned her undergraduate degree in interdisciplinary studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She earned her certification in paralegal studies from the Center for Legal Studies.
